How did you get started in Legal Marketing?
I’ve worked in law firms my entire working life — and worn many hats. I started as a legal assistant in college, went to paralegal school, then to law school for my JD and finally getting my masters in information sciences all while working full-time at a law firm. I have always helped with getting clients in my various roles, but I ended up in legal marketing because there wasn’t a marketing person in our LA office, so I started writing nominations, helping with pitches, and writing stories in addition to my job as Senior Research Analyst. I was eventually asked to officially join the BD/Marketing team and I love it!
What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of the job is getting to know attorneys, staff and clients personally and helping them shine professionally whether it’s during an event or a winning nomination. It makes me feel really good inside.
What is a challenge you have been able to overcome in your career/current job/legal marketing?
Before the pandemic I could just drop by offices for face to face time, but with the pandemic going on for a year now, face time has been eliminated. To overcome this I reach out to co-workers personally to schedule a call or a Zoom to stay in touch.

I just signed up for the LA Marathon!
Share something you have found to be interesting or special in the last year.
The pandemic has made me realize more than ever that life is too short. I started doing more things that I love and trying new things I’ve always wanted to try. I feel so grateful!
