Personally, and professionally, when I hear the phrase ‘The Great Resignation,’ it gives me anxiety. I think, for many, the term resignation can immediately cast a negative light on the change brought about by a resignation. And change is hard for everyone involved.
But in this issue of our newsletter, I am championed by the positive intent and renewed spirit that our contributors have looked for in ‘The Great Resignation.’ The timing feels serendipitous in that our regional conference is taking place next week. And with that lens, I feel that the newsletter is less about ‘The Great Resignation,’ and more about how we move FORWARD from this time in workplace culture.
I hope that you find a takeaway in each of these articles: if you resigned from a position and transitioned to something new, if you saw your professional colleagues’ transition, or if you were instrumental in navigating how this impact on the workforce would affect the legal marketing efforts of firms. I think Gina Eliadis stated it well in her article, “How Hybrid Work Affects Business Culture and Influences the Great Resignation.” -- this is a forward-looking evolution of organizational culture, not its demise.
I hope that I get to see you on October 12 at the LMA Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference as we all gather to look at how we move FORWARD together!
Our community is the key to our success, and we hope you will share your talents, your experience, and your ideas! Join us as we move FORWARD together. Thank you for actively supporting the Mid-Atlantic Region across the Baltimore, Capital, and Virginias local groups.
