Embracing Generational Diversity: Unlocking the Competitive Advantage of a Multigenerational Team

Presenters:
Tahisha Fugate, Senior Marketing & Business Development Manager, Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider
Diana Lauritson, Senior Marketing & Business Development Manager, Hogan Lovells

Reasons for Presenting:

(Tahisha) I decided to speak at the conference because I’m always looking for new ways to support our region, and what better way than to lend my voice at the Mid-Atlantic Conference. I’ve also been part of planning committees for both the Mid-Atlantic Conference as well as this year’s LMA International Conference, but this will be my first time participating as a speaker.

(Diana) I decided to present at the conference because it is a great opportunity to connect with old and new friends in the region, as well as a way to address an important and relevant topic that will bring value to the participants.

Program Points of Emphasis:

(Tahisha) The session, “Embracing Generational Diversity: Unlocking the Competitive Advantage of a Multigenerational Team,” will really tap into the modern legal marketing team, which includes a range of generations all working together to drive growth within our firms. This session will uncover practical strategies for fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment by leveraging the strengths of each generation.

(Diana) Our program focuses on generational diversity and will explore how to harness it in ways that benefit the individual, the broader team, and the firm/organization. This is a topic that will always need to be revisited because each successive generation sees the world through a different lens and behaves accordingly, which impacts the dynamics of the team. The ways in which a multigenerational team collaborates need to evolve continuously.

One Desired Takeaway for Attendees:

(Tahisha) To recognize that the DNA of our teams (see what I did there?) is made up of our generational diversity, which is in fact our super power.

(Diana) To view multigenerational teams as a strength that can benefit the organization rather than a hindrance that needs to be overcome.

What Attendees Can Expect:

(Tahisha) Engagement, engagement. Attendees should think of themselves as panelists.

(Diana) What Tahisha said. 😊

Most Looking Forward to:

(Tahisha) Learning from and connecting with friends, of course!

(Diana) The energy and friendly atmosphere that is always present at LMA events.

Other Thoughts:

(Diana) We hope to see you at our session!
