President’s Message

Well friends, we made it! It is hard to believe that 2023 is mostly in the rearview mirror, and looking back, I can’t help but smile at how many great times we were able to share together!
Let’s take a walk down memory lane, shall we? This year was full of amazing memories throughout our region, across all of our Local Steering Committees (LSCs) and the LMANext and Senior Leader SIGs, including:
- A full-day regional conference
- Five virtual educational programs
- Six in-person educational programs
- Ten in-person socials
On one unseasonably warm day in late October, we had 240 attendees and 31 sponsors all come together at our regional conference to build and strengthen our regional legal marketing community. It was a fantastic day with 18 excellent sessions, and we look forward to continuing the tradition here in Washington, DC in 2024. I want to say thank you to our conference co-chairs, Diana Dillon, and Rachel Mershon, along with their exceptional team of volunteer leaders, who helped us accomplish this enormous endeavor.
Our LSCs were also very active this fall! Baltimore and Virginias hosted social and educational events, bringing together friends and peers in our local marketing communities who hadn’t seen each other in quite some time.
Volunteer service is the backbone of success for our regional and local legal marketing communities. I am eternally grateful for the leadership and dedication shown by our entire 2023 Mid-Atlantic Regional Board and our Local Steering Committee volunteer leaders, and I encourage each of our members to consider volunteer leadership in the region. Thank you to everyone who supported our community in 2023, including our extraordinary sponsors and members. We would not be the same without you.
On behalf of the region, I would also like to send a special thank you to Aileen Hinsch and Paul Dumansky, who have served as editors of this great newsletter for the last two years. Thank you for bringing our region timely and relevant content, and helping us grow in our professions.
In closing, it has been such a pleasure getting to know each of you in our community and I wish you a wonderful holiday season. I look forward to seeing you around LMA next year.
