Tell us how you got involved with legal marketing.

Getting into legal marketing was a bit of a surprise for me, to be honest. I started off aiming for a career in business consulting or economic development, using my Economics degree. But life had other plans. In my first job within the nonprofit sector, I found myself volunteering for and ending up knee-deep in communications work and loving every minute of it. I was drawn to the idea that no day will ever be like any other, while mixing my passion for analytics and creativity together was like finding a perfect recipe. Then, out of the blue, a recruiter pitched me the idea of diving into legal marketing. It wasn't part of my grand plan, but something told me I had to give it a shot. And you know what? I'm really glad I did! Sometimes the unexpected paths lead to the best destinations, and looking back, I’m so thankful that I didn’t turn away this opportunity.

What does LMA mean to you?

Surprisingly, I started with LMA almost at the same time that I started my career in legal marketing. Back then, I didn’t fully understand all the intricacies pertaining to the industry, nor did I have a team to rely on for mentorship at my job, given that it was a solo-marketing role. I leaned very heavily into any and all educational and volunteer opportunities LMA offers, quickly realizing just how much of a powerhouse LMA is. Very quickly, I started making connections and learning more about legal marketing from the more detailed and technical aspects, to the overarching goals. Today, I find myself surrounded by friends, mentors, and colleagues in the LMA community and am so much more successful at my job given the tools learned through LMA's programming and educational events. To me, LMA embodies not just a professional network, but a supportive community that fuels growth and success in the ever-evolving landscape of legal marketing.

Tell us about the Capital LSC, your role and your experience.

Leading Capital LSC alongside John Walsh as his Co-Chair is an incredible opportunity to celebrate how far I have come within my volunteer journey with LMA and to extend the opportunities I leveraged to every member within the region. While I deeply love LMA for what it is today, I am excited about the prospect of creating new initiatives, offering more robust educational programs, and expanding opportunities offered to new members through my role. For me, it is a way to give back to the community that supported my growth as a leader and professional. Together with John and the team, we're dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive environment where members can connect, learn, and thrive in their legal marketing careers. It's an honor to shape the future of Capital LSC and contribute to the ongoing success of LMA.

Tell us a bit more about yourself and what you like to do outside the office.

Outside the office, I love going to yoga, especially aerial yoga or taking some time to relax next to a novel or my sketchbook. On a more unconventional side, I have a very long bucket list of crazy experiences to try at least once, some of which I've already achieved like skydiving, flying planes, and deep-cave spelunking. Next on the agenda? Learning to sail and feeling the rush of driving a sports car on a real race track!

What is something you are absolutely determined to do in life?

While I love my career in legal marketing, I'm absolutely determined to create and run my own nonprofit focused on assisting children affected by wars – a cause which is incredibly personal. This vision involves establishing a safe and stable environment for them, ensuring their access to education despite their country's turmoil. My goal is to provide these children with a chance at a brighter future, where their lives aren't defined by continual hardship but instead filled with hope and opportunity for a life beyond.
