What Can LMA Do for You? Community, Connection and Career Growth

The legal marketing profession continues to evolve at a rapid pace — shaped by shifting client expectations, advancing technology, hybrid work environments and increasing strategic demands on marketing and business development leaders.

So where do legal marketers turn for community, clarity and career growth?

That was the focus of the LMA Southern California Chapter’s recent virtual panel discussion, “What Can LMA Do for You? Community, Connection and Career Growth.” If you missed it, the good news is that the replay is now available[1] .

This dynamic conversation, which was a West Region Marquee Event, brought together some of LMA’s most influential voices to explore why LMA continues to matter and how members can make the most of it at every stage of their careers.

A Conversation Spanning LMA’s Past, Present and Future

Moderated by LMA’s first president and SoCal Local Steering Committee Member Sally Schmidt, the discussion also featured:

Maggie Watkins, former LMA president and longtime industry leader

     Ashley Stenger, CEO of LMA

Sheenika Gandhi, Greenberg Glusker CMO and LMA West Region President-elect

Together, the panel offered both a big-picture perspective and practical guidance — from the history of LMA’s evolution to hands-on tips for navigating member resources.

In addition, SoCal LSC Membership Chair Michael Chen previewed upcoming programming, including the opportunity to participate in SoCal Match-Up - where we group you together with one or two other legal marketers near you to meet and connect over a meal, coffee or drinks.

In addition to the valuable discussion, the SoCal LSC created this downloadable handout of links to helpful pages on the LMA website.[2]

Across the discussion, several themes emerged:

LMA membership is a long-term career investment

     Engagement drives value

     Community strengthens professional resilience

Leadership pathways are accessible at every stage

The organization evolves alongside the profession

Whether you are new to LMA, considering membership or have been involved for more than a decade, the discussion offers valuable insight into how to leverage the organization more strategically.

If you are looking to deepen your professional network, strengthen your strategic impact within your firm or explore new leadership opportunities, this conversation is worth your time.

And, if you are not currently a member, this program provides a compelling look at how LMA can support your next chapter of growth.
