By Jennifer Shankleton posted 09-07-2021 10:27

We're currently talking -- 2022 Midwest Regional Conference -- and are super excited to assemble a rock-star planning committee!

Here is how to get involved - see below for a description of the roles and responsibilities necessary to make this another exceptional (did you have any doubt it would be amazing?) LMA Midwest Regional Conference.

Conference Programming:

  • Manage the Call for Conference Submissions.
  • Review and organize the submissions into relevant categories.
  • Schedule a meeting with the conference volunteers to review the submissions and determine which submissions to accept.
  • Identify any topics where there was no submission and determine who, if any, person could present on the topic.
  • Reach out to those people whose submissions were not accepted.
  • Divide up the submissions that were accepted among the volunteers and have them follow-up with each presenter.
  • Schedule and conduct a practice run with each presenter.
  • Work with any last-minute needs/details for each presenter.

YHA:

  • Identify award categories.
  • Develop and manage the award submissions and review the overall process.
  • Recruit a small group of LMA volunteers to assist with reviewing award submissions, notifying the winners and those not selected, putting together the script for the YHA program at the Midwest Regional Conference and working with the conference co-chairs on the awards program.

Sponsorships:

  • Create a list of sponsorship targets from lists that we are currently utilizing along with other targets not on the list.
  • Reach out and follow-up with targets.
  • Complete the necessary paperwork for those companies who agree to be a sponsor.
  • Manage the fulfillment of sponsorship benefits.
  • Ensure sponsors are taken care of during the conference.
  • Assist in the collection of delinquent sponsorship payments if needed.

 Communication:

  • Create a communication plan, that includes a weekly schedule, to promote the conference.
  • Recruit volunteers to help with the implementation of the communications plan.
