JStokes is a strategic marketing agency providing brand strategy, brand identity, website development, marketing communications, content marketing, and related media services.

Tell us a little about how you got started in the industry, and how you got to where you are now.
We were asked to help a large law firm create a new campaign. The CMO wanted a fresh perspective and new ideas from outside the legal marketing arena. Firm leadership approved that campaign on the first pass and that CMO remained a client for 15+ years.

Is there an achievement or contribution that you are most proud of?
We love rebranding work - helping legacy firms reposition for future growth. One of our most successful rebranding campaigns was for Knobbe Martens, taking top Your Honor award in 2012. They are still a great client today.

What is your passion outside of work (or a favorite hobby)?
I am an avid tennis player and a cyclist. I ride to support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Northern California every year.

What’s helped keep you/your team motivated through the past year?
Once again, our diversified client roster has helped us through another tough cycle. We have remarkable clients and those partnerships always keep our team motivated.

What new things have you/your team tried recently?
Account-based marketing / hyper-targeted digital programs, legal podcasts, increased content depth and frequency in content marketing.

What trends are you seeing in the industry?
Spending levels starting to return to pre-COVID cancellations, increased acceptance (and appreciation of) of digital strategies and tactics, increased demand for tracking, analytics and ROI Need for ADA and Data Privacy Compliance
