Seasons Greetings, fellow SIG members!
As 2015 comes to a close and we look ahead to 2016, Phil and I wanted to let you know how thankful we are to be part of such a great community of research professionals. Over the course of the year, we were pleased to provide a number of educational opportunities to the group and hope you found them to be of relevance to your respective areas of responsibility. Each webinar is available on-demand and we hope that you will take the opportunity view them if you were unable to attend (or would simply like to revisit the content):
Starting a CI Function (presented by Zena Applebaum and Emily Rushing)
How to Analyze Metrics to Enhance Your Firm’s Business Development Efforts (presented by Luke Ferrandino and Matthew Olsen)
CI on Current Law Firm Benchmarks: Compensation, Demand, and What this Mean for your Future (presented by Bill Josten)
In October, Phil and I had the opportunity to attend the LMA Leaders Conference in Chicago. Working with other LMA leaders, we identified opportunities for collaboration with other SIGS in 2016. We look forward to bringing you some exciting presentations in the coming year.
November marked the inaugural class of the LMA Competitive Intelligence Certificate Program (LMA-CIC). LMA partnered with the esteemed The Fuld-Gilad-Herring Academy of Competitive Intelligence to offer this this tailored two-day course which included collection, critical analysis and war gaming. The program was held November 3-4, 2015 at Sheraton Commander Hotel in Cambridge, MA and had 31 attendees.
This year, we also embarked on a partnership new to the LMA SIGs with our sponsor Thompson Reuters and incorporated a “vendor spotlight” into our group calls in order to provide you with information on resources that we think may be of interest to you.
We want to make sure that we are providing you with information that is relevant and useful, and that you find your membership in the SIG to be of value. To that end, we are available to receive your questions or comments and are always open to suggestions with regard to improving opportunities for our members. Please reach out!
Sincerely,
Your Competitive/Market Intelligence SIG Leaders
