Anne Marie Grewal, Client Communications Manager at Latham & Watkins, presented a fantastic webinar on October 18 for the LMA and PR SIG communities. Check out her suggestion to the popular question below.
Question: When I revise a headline, I'm getting push back from my attorney who prefers dense material. How do I overcome and convince him/her to take a different route?
Try an email like… Given that readers will decide whether or not to read your alert based on the title (and if using a mobile device, the first few words of the title), I offer a couple of options that might front load the key words and spark interest with your readers. Your title and/or teaser should hint at the answer to the ‘so what?’ question a reader asks when deciding whether or not to continue reading. I have tried to draft something that gets at the implications of the article/blog post/press release, but if I haven’t captured your meaning, please revise.
