Description: Berger & Montague is currently seeking a Public Relations and Communications Coordinator in the firm’s Philadelphia office. The Coordinator is responsible for the execution of communications and media relations activities and ensuring consistent communication and messaging to internal and external audiences. The role interfaces with practice group leaders, firm administration, and third parties, including external vendors. This is a firm-wide role that also provides public relations and communications support to the Firm’s Minneapolis office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Writing and issuing summaries regarding developments in new and existing cases, as well as general firm news (such as the promotion of firm employees) and determining appropriate media distribution plans;
  • Maintaining and updating the firm’s social media accounts (such as facebook, linkedin, and twitter);
  • Drafting content for the firm’s external website, www.bergermontague.com, and related firm microsites;
    • Writing and posting news stories;
    • Revising practice group descriptions;
    • Generating new case pages and updating existing case pages;
  • Maintaining the firm’s resume of experience and submitting applications on the firm’s behalf for appropriate awards and other professional recognition;
  • Monitoring PR activity and distributing links to news articles via the firm’s internal electronic newsletter;
  • Drafting and sending email campaigns;
  • Developing and maintaining contact lists and mailing lists;
  • Handling the firm’s day-to-day press relations, which includes press outreach and requests for comment from the media;
  • Supporting other digital marketing efforts as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in liberal arts, English, or a business-related field;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Must be entrepreneurial;
  • Experience utilizing social media tools and platforms including facebook, linkedin, and twitter;
  • At least 2 years of work-related experience with the media, preferably within a law firm or professional services organization;
  • Proficient in the use of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and database applications;
  • Professional maturity and the ability to understand the firm’s business model and enhance the firm’s public presentation.
