Adam Stock, Chief Marketing and Client Services Officer, Allen Matkins
Traditional ideas about what constitutes marketing are being challenged thanks to the growing importance of content such as native advertising and declining importance of traditional ads.
In a presentation titled “Chief Content Conductor: The New Role of Marketers,” Adam Stock, chief marketing and client services officer at the law firm Allen Matkins, contends that this changing landscape holds promise and opportunity for the legal industry and it’s marketing professionals. According to Stock, law firms, given the trust-based relationship they have with their clients, are positioned to benefit from more information and content neutral marketing efforts.
During the presentation, Stock highlighted some recent success Allen Matkins has had distributing information about regulatory updates in new forms, such as video clips, and through nontraditional outlets such as professional association websites. These channels, as well as those offered by social media such as YouTube and Twitter, offer a wider distribution base than those offered by the default email blast. Stock concludes that those law firms that successfully navigate this new type of marketing also provide another metric to show value to current and potential clients.
