Dear LA Chapter Members,

As we approach the midterm of the 2016 LMA-LA leadership, I would like to share chapter news and a few upcoming and exciting developments.   

REGIONALIZATION

LMA's reorganization into regions in 2017 will improve opportunities and increase resources for all members. As a Los Angeles board, we are committed to making sure that our members feel the benefits.

LOCAL STEERING COMMITTEE

With the announced Regionalization, there are more opportunities than ever before to get involved in LMA. Members interested in serving on the local steering committee are invited to complete and submit the Expression of Interest Form, or to submit the name of an eligible colleague or peer, to the 2017 LMA-LA Steering Committee Chair,

Mary Stone, via email at mary.stone@akingump.com by 6:00 p.m. (PDT) on Friday, June 3, 2016. 

PROGRAMS

Education and networking are at the heart of LMA, and they all come together in our monthly programs. I am so proud of the events we have hosted so far this year. Highlights include the "Client Development Alphabet" with Norm Rubenstein and a popular panel on "Writing to Win" fabulous editorial submissions.  

We have several exciting programs scheduled in the months ahead, including a program on predictive analytics in June and our summer social will be held in July.

You may have noticed that we've also been mixing up the days, times and locations of the programs, offering an array of choices beyond the traditional lunchtime meetings. We are committed to connecting with you wherever you are and whenever you can. LMA-LA is a big tent and we not only welcome your participation, we depend on you for our success. 

LMA-CME

The chapter's signature event for more than 10 years has been our annual Continuing Marketing Education conference. After much deliberation, we have decided on a hiatus for the CME in 2016. We want to retain the high-caliber programming that has made the conference a destination each fall for the legal marketing community. We also know how important it is for our local members to have the chance to attend large-scale events beyond the annual conference. Our commitment to the conference is as strong as ever, and we will use this planning period to reimagine an even more dynamic CME in 2017.
