Meet former LMA Ohio Chapter President, Rose Abood.abood-lg.jpg

Rose Abood is the Chief Marketing Officer at Roetzel & Andress LPA. With 14 years of experience in the legal marketing arena, Rose was previously with Arter & Hadden for six years and Squire, Sanders & Dempsey for two years.  She is past president of the Ohio Chapter of LMA (serving two years) and was on the Board from 2000-2006. Currently, she is an active member and Chairs the Chapter's Community Outreach Committee.

Upon joining Roetzel &Andress, Rose and her staff built the marketing department and its resources from ground up. She is responsible for setting and implementing the firm’s marketing, business development and communications goals. Some of Rose's recent major projects include development and implementation of a client feedback program, collaboration with practice groups to develop group marketing plans, creation of knowledge management tools and execution of a Florida branding/PR campaign.

Where did you grow up? University Hts, OH

What was your first job? Babysitting. My first "real" job was a cashier at Marcs.

What would you be doing if you weren't in your current job?  Good question. I would love to have my own restaurant or travel around the world or manage major sporting events.

What car do you drive? Acura TL

What is currently on your iPod? ALL kinds of music. Bands like Coldplay, Linkin Park, Seal, U2, Blue October, Rascal Flatts, Norah Jones, Cascada, Dave Matthews, Smashing Pumpkins, etc.

Where is your favorite place to go to relax? The deck in my backyard.

What is your favorite TV show? Favorite movie?  I don't really watch much TV. The only show I somewhat consistently watch is "Heroes." My favorite movie is...."Tommy Boy."

What is your favorite cuisine?  Lebanese/Middle Eastern.

If you were stranded on a desert island, who or what would you want to have with you? My family, music and a volleyball.

Who are the most important people in your life? My parents.

What is the first thing you read in the morning? My e-mail on my BlackBerry.

How did you get into legal marketing? An informational interview.

What is the best thing about your job? The ability to create and implement ideas from scratch, the variety of projects I get to manage and work on, and the people I work with and am surrounded by.

What advice would you offer a new entrant to the world of legal marketing?  Get involved in a wide variety of projects, take the time to learn new things, be a team player, use constructive feedback to help you grow, and make sure you are ready to develop a thick skin.
