Title: Director of Marketing & Client Service

Firm: Rendigs, Fry, Kiely & Dennis

Education: BS from the University of Dayton (’01), MBA from Xavier University (’06)

Where did you grow up? Cincinnati, Ohio

What was your first job? Working at the concession stand at my neighborhood swim club.

What would you be doing if you weren't in your current job? My secret career ambition is to be a radio disc jockey.

What is currently on your iPod? I don’t own one!

Where is your favorite place to go to relax? In bed with a good book.

What is your favorite TV show? Favorite movie? TV show = Parenthood, Movie = The Wizard of Oz

What is your favorite cuisine? Mexican — I judge the quality of a restaurant by their enchiladas.

If you were stranded on a desert island, who or what would you want to have with you? I’d want to have my husband with me because he’s funny and a good handyman, and I’d like to have my iPad with a strong internet connection.

Who are the most important people in your life? My husband Jim, my children Nicole (5) and Christopher (3), and my parents.

What is the first thing you read in the morning? My email — it’s a compulsion I should probably be working on…

How did you get into legal marketing? I was previously in the telecommunications industry. I saw my job post on Monster and then again on a different job board two days later. Via networking, I found someone who knew someone who knew the Executive Director at the firm. My boss pulled my resume out of the virtual “stack” and my first interview was set up that same week.

What is the best thing about your job? I have THE BEST job at the entire firm. As the only marketing person at my firm (60 people), I literally never do the same thing two days in a row. My favorite part about my job is the opportunity to develop both the internal (culture-building) and external (brand-building) marketing.

What advice would you offer a new entrant to the world of legal marketing? Attorneys have very strong and often very unique views of their vocation compared to other business professionals in a service industry. Be patient.
