Maureen Grenier
Marketing Manager
Mirick O’Connell
How did you get into Legal Marketing?
While in school I worked part-time in a law firm doing legal administrative work. I enjoyed the fast-paced environment, but I always saw myself working in more of a creative field, such as advertising. I joined Mirick O’Connell 15 years ago (wow!) as a legal assistant, still not overly passionate about the work I was doing. When a position opened up in the Marketing Department, I jumped at the opportunity to put both my business degree and passion for doing anything creative along with the ability to help others succeed. Fast forward several years, and I could not be happier with that decision.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Believe it or not, the fact that I wear many different hats. I enjoy the variety and I love a good challenge. But, what has really kept me at the same firm for the past 15 years is definitely the people and the support I have received as I have grown and advanced from within.
What is one of your favorite pastimes?
Hands down, shopping! I also like spending time with family and friends – and, if I can incorporate lunch with a little retail therapy into those visits, I do!
Pick three words to describe yourself.
Creative, organized and calming (I wouldn’t call myself “calm” but I think I have a calming effect on others)
What was your first paying job?
Babysitting – at $.75/hour per kid! No wonder I quit!
If you were to take a sabbatical, what would you do with your time?
First, I would spend a few weeks on a beach, just chillaxing. Then, I would like to visit my husband’s relatives in France and see the village where my mother-in-law grew up.
If you had a super hero power, what would it be?
The power to heal.
What actress would play you in a movie?
I have been told many times that I resemble Lauren Graham and I think she could grasp my sarcasm and humor, so I guess I’ll go with her.
What is your favorite board game?
Pictionary or Cranium, and I play to win!
What is your New Year’s resolution or prediction for 2014?
I resolved long ago never to make another New Year’s resolution. I rather challenge myself all year long!
