Dear LMA Members:
The Nominating Committee has begun its annual process of determining the slate of candidates to fill open seats on the International Board of Directors. LMA members will ratify the International Board slate in late August and the new board members will begin their service in January 2017.
Additionally, Regional Nominating Committees have begun the process of determining the slate of candidates to fill the newly created Regional Governing Board positions. LMA members will ratify the Regional Governing Board slates in July and new board members will begin their service in September 2016.
Eligible members are invited to express their interest in serving on the International Board of Directors or Regional Governing Board (i.e., self-nominate), or nominate others for service, using the instructions in this letter and its attachments.

LMA seeks to fill the following voting International Board positions:
- President-elect (3 year commitment: President-Elect in 2017, President in 2018, Immediate Past-President in 2019)
- Treasurer-elect (2 year commitment: Treasurer-Elect in 2017, Treasurer in 2018)
- Secretary (2 year commitment: January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018)
- Two At-Large Board Members (2 year commitment: January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018)
- Chapter Presidents’ Committee (“CPC”) Chair (1 year commitment: January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2017)
Note this position will become the Regional Leadership Committee (“RLC”) Chair under the regional structural transition
Eight Regional Nominating Committees seek to fill the following voting Regional Governing Board positions:
- Immediate Past President (1 year commitment: Open to persons who have previously served as Chapter President in 2015 or before)
- President (2 year commitment: President in 2017, Immediate Past President in 2018)
- President-elect (3 year commitment: President-Elect in 2017, President in 2018, Immediate Past President in 2019)
- Secretary (2 year commitment)
- Treasurer (1 year commitment)
- Treasurer-elect (2 year commitment: Treasurer-Elect in 2017, Treasurer in 2018)
- Five Directors (2 year commitment, except in 2017, two of the five will serve one-year terms)
Please note that for this transition year, Regional Governing Board positions will begin service on September 1, 2016, so each term will include an additional four months (that is, a “1 year commitment” as listed below will actually be 1 year and 4 months).

Expressions of Interest for Regional Governing Board positions are due by 12:00 PM Central on Friday, May 20.
Nominating committees will verify eligibility, interview candidates and references, and put forth a slate for ratification by the membership.
