Dear Fellow Northeast LMA Members:
The Northeast Regional Nominating Committee has begun the process of identifying candidates to fill positions on the newly-created 2017 Northeast Regional Governing Board. We would like to take this opportunity to provide more information about the process and to encourage your participation in the future leadership of LMA.
The infographic and other information available here details the new tiered governing structure, as well as the positions within the Regional Governing Boards. Eligible members are invited to express their interest in serving on the Northeast Regional Governing Board (i.e, self-nominate), or nominate others for service, using the instructions in this letter and at the above-mentioned link. LMA members in good standing will ratify the Regional Governing Board slates in July and new board members will begin their service in September 2016.
We are seeking to fill the following voting Regional Governing Board positions:
- Immediate Past President (1 year commitment: Open to persons who have previously served as Chapter President in 2015 or before)
- President (2 year commitment: President in 2017, Immediate Past President in 2018)
- President-elect (3 year commitment: President-Elect in 2017, President in 2018, Immediate Past President in 2019)
- Secretary (2 year commitment)
- Treasurer (1 year commitment)
- Treasurer-elect (2 year commitment: Treasurer-Elect in 2017, Treasurer in 2018)
- Five Directors (2 year commitment, except in 2017, two of the five will serve one-year terms)
Please note that for this transition year, Northeast Regional Governing Board positions will begin service on September 1, 2016, so each term will include an additional four months (that is, a "1 year commitment" as listed below will actually be 1 year and 4 months).

To begin the Northeast Regional Governing Board nominating process, please review the Regional Eligibility Criteria. If you satisfy the criteria for this nomination, we invite you to complete the Regional Expression of Interest Form and submit it no later than 12:00 PM Central on Friday, May 20.
