The Practice Development Manager ("PDM") is expected to provide significant high-level support to the business development, marketing and operational activities of the firm's Investment Management and Hedge Funds Practice Groups.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist Practice Group Leaders ("PGLs") and practice group attorneys in development, execution and implementation of practice group strategic plan.

Identify external marketing opportunities, including speaking opportunities, sponsorships, conferences and writing opportunities working in conjunction with the PR, Communications and Events teams.

Manage the on-boarding and integration of lateral attorneys into practice groups, including drafting candidate sponsor memoranda and subsequent integration plans.

Ensure practice group specific training programs are aligned with the goals and needs of the group.

Conduct routine analyses of practice group financial reports and metrics and manage practice group budgets.
- Manage Practice Development Specialists and Assistants through coaching, mentoring and delegation of practice group projects and routine tasks.
Specific Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of the Firm's internal and personnel affairs.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and solve problems.
- Ability to make logical conclusions or recommendations based on the analysis and synthesis of data and information which is varied in content and format.
- Strong organizational skills and proven attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in or strong knowledge of asset management preferred.
- Prior people management experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree. JD or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in a large law firm or corporate environment.
