  1. How did you get into legal marketing?
I was working at Morgan Lewis in Firm Administration while pursuing my MBA at night at Temple when an assistant-level position opened in the Marketing Department in 1997. I applied and, as the saying goes, the rest is history.
  2. Describe one of your best experiences in legal marketing?
I really can’t pick just one, so I have to say it was the seven years I spent at White and Williams LLP. I was at the firm during a very exciting time of growth and expansion which provided lots of great experiences with so many awesome lawyers and staff members many of whom are still close friends.
  3. What is one of your greatest challenges when it comes to legal marketing?
Meeting the expectations of attorneys who have an unrealistic view of marketing. Managing expectations is a daily challenge, but so important.
  4. Do you have any words of wisdom to those who are new to the field?
Don’t be afraid to ask for help or advice. Most of us enjoy sharing best practices and tips. I still rely on a core group of trusted colleagues for advice. Also, seek a mentor. I worked with Mary Beth Pratt at Morgan Lewis in the late 1990s before she became the CMO at Pepper Hamilton. She was an excellent leader, a patient mentor and a tireless cheerleader. I was so lucky to have her in my life at such an early point in my career.
  5. What is one thing that most people don’t know about you?
I’ve been friends with President-Elect Andrea Malone since 1st grade.
