Georgene Davison

Work History:

Georgene Davison is the Associate Director of Business Development at Thompson Hine LLP.  She was a founding member of the Northeast Ohio Legal Marketing Association (now the Ohio Chapter) and has been involved in legal marketing for more than fifteen years.  During her career, Georgene has implemented numerous marketing, communications, research and business development programs.  She is currently the project manager for Thompson Hine’s Client Service Team Program and Service Excellence Initiative.  She also is a member of the firm’s Sales Support Team, providing coaching and sales support to the lawyers across the firm. 

Education:

  • University of Dayton, B.S. (dual majors in finance and marketing)
  • John Carroll University, M.B.A.

Where did you grow up?

  • Cleveland, Ohio

What was your first job?

  • Sales associate at The Limited.  I made sure I got a job in a clothing store the minute I turned 16.

What would you be doing if you weren't in your current job?

  • Teacher

What car do you drive?

  • GMC Acadia…I need to be able to haul hockey, football, baseball and soccer equipment for my two little boys.

What is currently on your iPod?/ Do you have an iPod?

  • Heavy Metal Music (Linkin Park, Three Days Grace, Disturbed, Godsmack…to name a few)

Where is your favorite place to go to relax?

  • Hair Salon - a cut, color and style always makes me feel better.

What book are you reading?

  • The Soul of Success

What is your favorite cuisine?

  • Mexican

What is the best thing about your job?

  • The people I work with…our Business Development Team at Thompson Hine is the best.

What is the first thing you read in the morning?

  • My Treo..a quick catch up on email helps make my mornings less stressful.

What advice would you offer a new entrant to the world of legal marketing?

  • Take the opportunity to learn new things, don’t be afraid to ask questions, always do your best to provide value to the lawyers you work with and ask for feedback.

How did you get into legal marketing?

  • Answered a blind job advertisement in the Plain Dealer.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what would you want to have with you?

  • My family.
