Sincere thanks for all your positive comments on “CI.” Please continue to let us know what you know regarding promotions, job changes, awards, marriages, births and whatever you think our chapter colleagues would like to know—but nothing scandalous! Wait—forget that. We’ll listen to anything!

I am back!

After an all too brief vacation, here is just some of the news floating around the Midwest chapter.

Congratulations!

We’re sending a special “shout out” to designer extraordinaire and long time true friend of LMA Midwest, Jon Heiniger of Heiniger Design, Inc. and his lovely wife Leanne. In December 2012, Jon and his family of Munster, Indiana, were named the United States Tennis Association’s Midwest Section Family of the Year. Jon’s children, Rachel, Jack and Nikki are all thoroughly involved in tennis in college and high school. Congratulate Jon at info@heinigerdesign.com.

Welcome to new LMA Midwest member Victoria Pompizzi, formerly marketing coordinator, now marketing manager at Segal McCambridge Singer & Mahoney. Say hello to Victoria at vpompizzi@smsm.com.

Congrats to LMA Midwest special programs chair Rachel Repke, formerly chicago business development & communications manager at Jones Day, now client development manager at Baker McKenzie.  Wish Rachel the very best at rachel.repke@bakermckenzie.com.

Wow! Shayda Safapour, formerly marketing communications specialist at Arnstein & Lehr, with the fabulous Jeff Hild, is now marketing manager at Cassiday Schade. Shayda is a licensed attorney and holds an MBA. Congratulate Shayda at ssafapour@cassiday.com.

Welcome also to new LMA member Kate Harry, the new recruiting manager at J. Johnson Executive Search, Inc. here in Chicago.  We also hear that long-time LMA members, Jennifer Johnson and Jeff Scalzi, CMO at Denton, are expecting twins soon! Wonderful news for the Scalzis. Don’t forget to greet Kate at a monthly program or at kate@jjohnsonexecsearch.com.

We hear that Pagette Fischer, Milwaukee City Group co-chair and formerly marketing project manager with Foley & Lardner, will soon take on the role of director at Davis & Kuelthau.  Pagette joins Tara Duggan, marketing manager at the firm. We expect to hear great things from Pagette. She’s terrific!

By the way, Sydney Iglitzen (that’s me), LMA Midwest past president, current board member of LMA Midwest and recently director of marketing & business development at a litigation boutique, is no longer with that firm. Sydney is consulting while looking for a real job!  Send words of encouragement and job tips to me at siglitzen@netzero.net.

Mergers

Additional great news from Rachel Repke. Rachel tells us that she is engaged to Jack Thompson, currently a grad student at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Rachel and Jack plan to get married in Montana in the fall of 2013.  Sincere best wishes to Rachel and Jack at Rachel.repke@bakermckenzie.com.

Acquisitions

A new arrival for Mark Levin, director of client service & marketing at Neal Gerber & Eisenberg, and wife Amy.  First baby for the Levins, daughter Taylor, was born on November 12, 2012. Amy Levin is a nurse and clinical researcher in transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy for the treatment of depression. Mark tells us that Amy and he are finally getting to sleep in correct beds these days now that Taylor is giving them a break. Send word of cheer to Mark at mlevin@ngelaw.com.

Hooray! And finally. Melissa Marshall, regional marketing manager at Clark Hill and former treasurer LMA Midwest and husband, Mike, a physical therapist at METT in Chicago, welcomed first baby, Kaelyn Reese, weighing 8 lbs. 5 oz. and 21 in. on December 12, 2012. Sincere hugs and best wishes to the Marshalls. Melissa can be reached at mmarshall@clarkhill.com.

More baby news.  We ran into Ashley Galston, marketing manager at Seyfarth Shaw, recently and she mentioned that she and her husband were thrilled with their new arrival – a baby girl, I think. More from Ashley when she returns from maternity leave.

Also, good news from Pete Smith, practice development manager at Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek in Milwaukee. Pete and his wife, Janet Vlasaty-Smith, a teacher of 5th and 6th grade language arts at Ben Franklin Elementary School, Franklin, WI, welcomed their second daughter, Haven Elizabeth, born September 4, 2012. Big sister, Harper Adele, age 2 ½, is thrilled. Pete was the first LMA webmeister way back when. Send good wishes to Pete at psmith@whdlaw.com.
