The economy and the legal industry continue to face challenges in this post-recession period. Join us and hear from the Head of Advisory Services in Citi Private Banks Law Firm Group, Gretta Rusanow, as she presents the 2015 law firm industry financial results. Behind the industry averages, Gretta will show how the results differ by Am Law segment, and discuss key themes such as dispersion and volatility.
Through her presentation, Gretta will discuss the key characteristics of the legal industry today and ahead, such as globalization, changes in buyer behavior, softening demand for litigation and a changing talent market. She will also focus on how firms are successfully addressing market challenges to grow revenue, operate more efficiently, and ensure their profitability and sustainability.
Gretta Rusanow is Head of Advisory Services in Citi Private Banks Law Firm Group. In this role, Gretta leads the day to day management of the Law Firm Groups Advisory Services, in addition to advising law firm leaders on legal industry trends, firm performance, and their financial strategy. Gretta oversees all legal industry content developed for law firm clients and delivered through roundtable sessions with leading law firm partners and other client events, as well as regular reports including the Annual Survey, Quarterly Flash, Managing Partner Confidence Index, Law Firm Leaders Survey and the annual Citi Hildebrandt Client Advisory.
Gretta has held internal roles at, and consulted to, law firms, corporate law departments and financial institutions for over 25 years. Prior to joining Citi in 2010, Gretta was the CEO of Curve Consulting, a company which she founded and ran for 10 years. Before founding Curve Consulting, she was a manager in the Law Firm & Law Department Consulting Group with PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York. Gretta began her career as a lawyer and project manager with Mallesons Stephen Jaques in Sydney, Australia. Gretta is the author of Knowledge Management and the Smarter Lawyer (ALM, 2003) and has spoken and written extensively on management and technology in the legal services industry. Gretta was a Senior Fellow at The University of New South Wales and the University of Melbourne where she designed and taught Managing Knowledge in Legal Services as part of its post-graduate law program.
Gretta holds a BA and LLB from The University of New South Wales, and a Graduate Certificate in Design from College of Fine Arts at The University at New South Wales, and is admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
