Leveraging Ongoing Market Intelligence to Initiate and Sustain Thought Leadership Strategies
Nov. 13 in Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus

Law firms are increasingly becoming more focused and disciplined in their strategic planning and business development. Today, clients expect much more from their firms. It is not enough to be an elite firm with world class lawyers. Law firms must discern — and demonstrate that they understand — how each client defines value. Though this value proposition will vary by client, there are certain recurring themes by which lawyers are increasingly evaluated and judged. Are the lawyers communicating well? Are the lawyers consistently anticipating what lies ahead for the client? The power shift between lawyer and client continues, and now more than ever, the buyers of legal services are making those decisions based on the law firm’s true understanding of their business — their organization — and the firms’ demonstrated embrace of unique business environments and market dynamics that define risk and opportunity.

Through the use of a comprehensive thought leadership strategy, successful law firms are able to demonstrate this understanding in a powerful way. Firms can differentiate their lawyers as industry/sector specialists. However, convincing lawyers to dedicate hours to the creation of original content can be easier said than done. Luckily, by leveraging existing resources, such as an ongoing, action-oriented market intelligence program, content creation and dissemination is easier than ever.
