LMA members are remarkably talented, passionate and innovative. This is a truth we've known for a long time, but it shined through even brighter during the review of the Presidents' Gift Grant Program submissions.
We were delighted with the many fantastic, energetic, robust entries from multiple people representing a wide cross-section of our member roles - so much so that we couldn't bring ourselves to award just one candidate as the recipient of the Presidents' Gift Grant.
Please join us in congratulating both Aricia Gallaher and Ashley McNew as the recipients of this year's President's Gift Grant Program.
Aricia and Ashley submitted creative, engaging videos that clearly articulated how they would apply the education received at the LMA's 2014 Annual Conference and how their attendance of the conference would contribute to the LMA community.
We think you might be as excited to engage with these new attendees at the 2014 Annual Conference as we are after watching their video submissions:
Since there were so many compelling entries, we also decided to award other applicants with a discount to the LMA's QuickStart program.
Thank you to all that submitted entries as well as to the entire LMA community that has rallied behind this new grant program in a way that has humbled us. We look forward to seeing you at LMA's 2014 Annual Conference in April.
Regards,

About the Presidents' Gift Grant Program
LMA's current president, immediate-past president and president-elect have come together to provide a new grant program for first-time attendees of the LMA Annual Conference: the Presidents' Gift. This grant program was intended to award one, first-time attendee with a complimentary registration to LMA's 2014 Annual Conference in Orlando, Fla. (April 2-4, 2014).
LMA’s Presidents’ Gift was created to provide those in transition between jobs, new LMA members, those new to our legal marketing community who have not attended a conference before, those in small firms with no budget to attend, etc. an opportunity for continuing education in the legal marketing industry to help become better, more productive employees.
Applicants were given the option to write a 350-500 word essay or create a short video that answered three of the four questions below:
- What influenced you to join the legal marketing and business development community?
- What is your proudest accomplishment to this day?
- What do you hope to take away from LMA’s 2014 Annual Conference?
- As a future legal marketing leader, what area/s do you deem necessary for future success in this competitive marketplace?
Submissions were assessed on:
- How the applicant will apply conference learning to his/her workplace
- Demonstrated thoughts on how the applicant's attendance will contribute to the LMA community
