Wow what a year this has been so far!! I joined LMASE when the former Kentucky Chapter merged into the LMASE Region at the start of 2017. Going from being Treasurer of a chapter of 23 members to the Treasurer of a region of nearly 500 members has been quite a ride. I've learned a lot along the way and made some amazing friends in the process. Thanks to all LMASE Region members for being so quick to welcome all of us from Kentucky.
We've been busy on the finances this year. Closing down all old accounts and moving to the central account has been challenging and would be impossible without a ton of help and patience from all our LSC leaders and our Administrator, Jennifer Brinkley.
I think we have set a good foundation for the rest of the year and for transitioning into year two of regionalization. We have processes in place to make submitting expenses and revenues as seamless as possible and are constantly working on ways to improve the process. Two of our LSCs are moving to a Square Up account so they can take on-site payments for events, eliminating the need to invoice attendees after a program, saving lots of time and increasing the likelihood of payment.
Next up for finances this year is the budget process. I will be working closely with the LSC Chairs and/or member tasked with LSC finances to help them through development and implementation of their respective LSC budgets.
