Many of you had the chance to mingle with our 2015 Board of Directors during our Winter Social and Meet the Board Event at Oak + Char in Chicago (click here to see photos from the event). For those of you who weren’t able to make it, we’d like to introduce the talented, fun superstars who are helping to make 2015 another successful year for LMA Midwest. [View Part 2] [View Part 3]

Christy Baas, Member-at-LargeBaas.jpg

Miller Canfield (Detroit)

Christy Baas is a member-at-large and the city group liaison for the LMA Midwest board of directors. She has spent the last 12 years at Miller Canfield, where she is currently the manager of global branding and media in Detroit. When Christy is not working legal triage, she is a fitness instructor for her own company, Vibe Fit. She has spent the past seven of 13 years as an instructor teaching Zumba Fitness. One of her favorite memories was being a part of the instructor team presenting rock and roll at the international Zumba Instructor Convention in 2012 and 2013. Christy and her husband spent a glorious seven years traveling the world and spending time and money on themselves before having two beautiful children (ages 5 months and 3 years). Her most exotic vacation: Rio de Janiero. Her most adventurous vacation: backpacking in Europe with a friend with no hotel reservations and a very flexible itinerary.

Maureen F.jpgMaureen Farr, President-Elect
Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale (St. Louis)

Maureen Farr is the marketing manager at Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale in St. Louis, Missouri. She has nearly 20 years of experience in professional services marketing, including 14 years of marketing and business development experience with law firms. Prior to joining Greensfelder, Maureen was a business development manager at an AMLaw 100 firm.  An active member of LMA, Maureen helped launch the LMA St. Louis City Group in 2011 and served as a co-leader for two years.  She is currently on the Midwest Board and will serve as president-elect in 2015. Maureen earned her B.S. in marketing from Missouri State University.

Maureen has three kids – Ally (16), Caden (11) and Maddie (3) and spends most of her time outside the office at soccer and baseball games.  She is a Netflix “addict” and lists Dexter, Orange is the New Black and Call the Midwife among her favorite shows.  She enjoys traveling and has been to a number of countries including Italy, France, Mexico, Germany and the Czech Republic but has never been to California (so she is super excited about this year’s LMA Conference is San Diego).

Bill “Fitz” Fitzgerald, Member-at-LargeFitzgerald.png
Werner Printing & Engraving (Chicago)

Bill Fitzgerald is executive vice president, sales at Werner Printing & Engraving Co. and has worked in the engraving and legal marketing industry for more than 30 years. Bill has forged many long-term relationships with top marketing executives over the years and has been a member of LMA since its inception. Bill is currently a board member of the Midwest chapter of LMA.

Prior to joining Werner Printing, Bill started his career at Fine Arts Engraving Company. Bill’s strength is facilitating creative and innovative brand solutions for any size law firm. Bill also has strong affiliations in the design community and has successfully managed the print portion of numerous world-wide rebrands.

Bill received his degree from St. Michael's College in Winooski, Vermont.

Bill was recently honored with the 2014 Friends of Jaffe Charity Award. Jaffe launched the annual FOJ Award in 2013 to recognize a friend of the agency who has made significant contributions to legal marketing and PR. As part of the award, Jaffe will donate $1,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project, the charity of Bill’s choosing. A long-time supporter of Jaffe and a personal friend to Jay Jaffe, Bill was honored to receive the award.

Megan McKeon5.jpgMegan McKeon, Secretary
Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP (Chicago)

As a child, Megan McKeon wanted to be a lawyer, and she would argue anything with anyone. She ended up applying those skills as senior marketing manager at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, where she manages the Chicago-based marketing team and creates and executes firm-wide and Chicago-specific marketing and business development strategy.

In her spare time, between her active involvement in LMA at the international and Midwest levels, she enjoys playing Pub Quiz on a weekly basis with her team, the Happy Bottom Riding Club (look it up!). Megan rules the roost with pop culture, general trivia and history, but leaves sports, music and geography to her teammates.

Megan has a lot of letters after her name, as she is a graduate of the Charles H. Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul University (M.B.A., marketing management and leadership and change management), The John Marshall Law School (J.D., admitted to practice in Illinois), and Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame (B.B.A., marketing and finance).

Beth Massing, Member-at-LargeBeth Massing_Crop.jpg
Dykema Gossett PLLC (Chicago)

Beth Massing is the marketing manager at Dykema based in the firm’s Chicago Office.  She has been an active member of LMA for more than 10 years, during which she previously served as Member-at-Large, Treasurer-Elect and Treasurer.  2015 will be her fifth year on the Midwest Chapter’s Board of Directors.  She has also served on the Board of the Medical Research Junior Board Foundation (now known as the Children's Research Fund Junior Board) for the Lurie’s Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

Beth is an avid runner having completed the Chicago Marathon and ran a personal best in the 2014 Healdsburg Wine Country Half Marathon in Sonoma County, California.  A passionate foodie, she loves checking out new restaurants around Chicago and nationally; occasionally even trying her own hand in the kitchen.  She is also a sports enthusiast and recently accomplished a long-time goal of winning her Fantasy Football league.
