Firm: Ice Miller LLP

Education: B.A. from American University in Washington, D.C.

Where did you grow up? In a suburb of Toledo, Ohio, called Sylvania.

What was your first job? Technically, my first paying job was as a baby sitter and then a lifeguard. Post college, I worked for a PR firm in DC called Levick Strategic Communications.

What would you be doing if you weren't in your current job? Real Estate. I would endeavor to acquire and combine the creativity and entrepreneurialism of Martha Stewart, the carpentry skills of the Property Brothers from HGTV, and the cunningness of Donald Trump together to invest in and transform buildings into an empire of renovated, income-producing properties.

What is currently on your iPod? Favorite tunes include Billy Joel, Shakira, and anything from Broadway.

Where is your favorite place to go to relax? Swimming laps in a pool.

What is your favorite TV show? Favorite movie? Do I have to admit that I actually watch the "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette?" There, I said it. I also like the previously mentioned "Property Brothers" from HGTV and "Chopped" from the Food Network.

What is your favorite cuisine? I truly eat anything and like everything. I have been known to mistake chicken for turkey. I once told someone at a party that their satay was salmon. It was chicken. Apparently I don't have distinguishing taste buds…

If you were stranded on a desert island, who or what would you want to have with you? Bear Grylls.

Who are the most important people in your life? My husband, our two children, my parents and sisters.

What is the first thing you read in the morning? Email.

How did you get into legal marketing? My first job at Levick Strategic Communications introduced me to lawyers at large law firms across the country. After several years creating those firm's earned media campaigns, I went in-house with a firm. I haven't looked back since.

What is the best thing about your job? The people. For me, it's always about the people you work with, what you learn from them, and what you can give back to them.

What advice would you offer a new entrant to the world of legal marketing? Dot every "i" and cross every "t" — twice. Aim to be a trusted advisor and deliver value every day.
