LMAO is coordinating efforts across the state to give back to our communities and support families and individuals who struggle to put food on the table. If you’re grateful for your colleagues, profession, family and friends — this is the perfect way to show it. Volunteers will sort and repack nonperishable food for distribution to local food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters. Details for events in Akron/Canton, Cleveland and Columbus are below.
Akron/Canton

The Akron Canton Regional Foodbank provides 84,000 meals to people each and every day. To participate, complete the adult volunteer application. Younger volunteers also are welcome; complete a youth volunteer application for people who are 10-15 years old. It’s best to dress in layers. The weather outside affects the temperature inside the warehouse. Open-toed shoes and jewelry are not permitted in the warehouse when handling food. Comfortable shoes are recommended; lockers are available for personal belongings.

Cleveland

Volunteers must create a volunteer profile and RSVP through the Greater Cleveland Food Bank website (see instructions below) to enter the facility Aug. 22. Volunteers who do not RSVP through the food bank will not be able to sign-in when they arrive. Remember to wear closed-toed/low-heeled shoes.

- Go to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank CERVIS event registration page.
- Click on the "Register for an Event" or "Login to Manage Your Profile" Button.
- Follow the on screen instructions to access the CERVIS registration system. If this is your first time using the CERVIS online registration system, you will be prompted to create a Volunteer profile.
- Click on the "Register/Unregister for an Event" Hyperlink under the "Service Event Registration" section of the Volunteer Main Menu.
- Select your name from the list and enter the code into the "Event Registration Code" Box.
- Click the "Register for selected event" button.

Columbus

Central Ohio volunteers will assist shoppers in the Kroger Food Pantry at the Mid-Ohio Foodbank. Attire should be casual, comfortable and washable. Because warehouse climate varies, we recommend layers. Volunteers should not wear open toed shoes, sandals or loose jewelry/clothing.
