I am very pleased to serve as the 2014 president of the Legal Marketing Association Midwest Chapter. When I joined the legal marketing profession back in 2005, I never dreamed I would become president of one of the biggest chapters in the LMA family. But like all stories I have heard about how someone in LMA was instrumental in getting them involved, mine is no different. Sydney Iglitzen came to Detroit to meet with John Cornwell from Plunkett Cooney and me to see if we might want to begin a Detroit City Group. Well the rest is history, and here I sit ready to serve our LMA Midwest members. I would like to thank Tina Johns and Tasneem Goodman for their leadership of our chapter and the guidance they provided me as a member of the Board. I also want to acknowledge all those members who either served or continue to serve on the Board, in leadership positions in our City Groups or volunteer to assist the chapter in way or another. The heart of our organization is with our volunteers, and we have some of the best in the LMA family.
With our chapter encompassing the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska and Wisconsin, our 2014 LMA Midwest Board of Directors is reflective of the region we cover with members from Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis and St. Louis. We have many plans for the upcoming year that will include the following:

Development of our City Group in Kansas City

Exploring potential City Group creation opportunities in Iowa and Nebraska

Expanded and relevant programming for our City Groups in Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis, Milwaukee and St. Louis
I hope I have an opportunity to meet many of you at one of our monthly luncheon programs in one of our City Groups. If you want to contact me to discuss anything that is on your mind with regard to LMA, feel free to do so. Some of best ideas come from our valuable members, so don’t be shy.
Finally, we are planning to have a Chapter Meet-Up at the LMA Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 before the General Reception on the exhibit floor.
