Meet Kevin O’Keefe, who will be speaking at LMA Ohio’s November 5 event, “Building Blogs for Lawyers.”
Kevin O’Keefe, an attorney and social entrepreneur, will be speaking with LMA Ohio members on how weblogs (blogs) can be used by attorneys to present themselves to the public, the media and new and prospective clients. He will also speak on ways in which legal marketers can take advantage of electronic marketing tools, such as LinkedIn, Flickr, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and others.
Work History:
Kevin is the founder of Lexblog, Inc., a fast-growing network of blogs published by leading lawyers in the U.S. and aroundthe world. With 17 years experience as a trial lawyer, Kevin marketed his own firm on the internet in such an impressive fashion that USA Today once remarked, “If O’Keefe isn’t careful, he may wind up giving lawyers a good name.”
Before starting Lexblog, Kevin founded Prairielaw.com, a legal web site for consumers and small business owners. After the site’s acquisition by Martindale-Hubbell, O’Keefe served as vice president of business development at Martindale, assisting in the development of its new lawyers.com web site.
Kevin has become a prominent speaker at LMA functions, having already presented to LMA's New England Chapter, Northwest Chapter and Southern California Chapter this year. He also participated as a panelist at the 10th Annual LMA Technology Program in San Francisco in September. He is scheduled to speak before LMA’s Philadelphia Chapter and Southwest Chapter this fall.
Passionate about his career and committed to enhancing the use of the Internet in the legal profession, Kevin sums up his quest by saying simply, “I love helping good lawyers to help people.”
Education:
Kevin earned his B.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. from the University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law.
