Cozen O’Connor is seeking a Proposal and Special Projects Writer to join the Marketing Department.
The Proposal and Special Projects Writer will manage and develop strategic proposals for key client
opportunities, including RFP’s and customized pitches, and other specialized business development
projects. The candidate will work with Practice Group Marketers and other members of the Marketing
Department, along with attorneys and members of other administrative departments, to establish best
practices with respect to content. The candidate must possess a proven ability to provide a persuasive
writing style that generates interest in firm capabilities and experience.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide first drafts of all RFP’s ensuring they accurately reflect instructions and structure required.
- Develop and drive processes for responding to RFP’s and other proposals.
- Maintain and develop content management systems, including updating content such as boilerplate library and matter descriptions.
- Assist in gathering and writing matter descriptions for firm’s experience database.
- Conduct audits of existing materials to evaluate strategy and effectiveness; create new copies as appropriate.
- Write select nominations for awards and rankings.
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in legal writing or legal marketing is required.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading and organizational skills, with an emphasis on consistency and accuracy.
- Ability to manage numerous competing priorities effectively under tight deadlines with minimal guidance.
- Proactive, hard-working, and demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong presence, capable of engaging credibly and effectively with attorneys.
