Spot Coaching: You as Coach

 

Being a coach requires you to be confident in yourself and your ability. This session is for professionals who want to begin or enhance their coaching within their firms to help drive marketing and business development. This discussion, led by Kathy Lester, a former in-house law firm marketer and certified coach, will include:

  • Potential barriers that get in the way of coaching
  • The skill sets necessary for coaching
  • Rewards of coaching 
  • Interactive discussion on coaching challenges the group encounters
  • Sample questions and ideas for handling key coaching challenges

Participants will hear practical tips for developing a coaching mindset that can be put to use on-the-spot in their firms.

Kathy Lester is a coach who works with lawyers, accountants, and other professional services leaders to help them build and create the long-term practices they want. As a consultant, she helps firms launch key client teams to increase collaborative cross-marketing among practice and industry groups, enhance the value and service delivered to clients, and to grow revenue at the firm.
 
Kathy holds a coaching certification from the International Coach Federation and the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara and has more than 20 years of business development and marketing experience, specifically 12 years in law firm business development, marketing, and professional development. She served on the international board of directors of the Legal Marketing Association. Kathy is currently a member of the International Coach Federation and the Legal Marketing Association.
