Conference Background
The LMASE Regional Conference is a high-quality professional development opportunity for LMA members to learn, network and walk away with actionable insight on timely topics. Attendees range from entry-level to senior leaders from law firm marketing departments, consultants and service providers, and are responsible for the development and management of marketing policies and business development strategies in their law firms and companies.
We are seeking conference programs that help attendees deliver value to their firms and to their firm's clients through marketing, business development and leadership skills. Programs should be solution-oriented, proactive in nature, innovative, and focused on advancing the legal marketing industry.

"Mapping the Future"
Lawyer rankings, RFPs, lateral hires, content marketing, Big Data and new tools abound; it often feels as if our GPS is leading us in circles - and at a rapid pace! How can we find the right resources and leverage them appropriately in our existing roles to help us navigate the ever-changing landscape of the legal industry? We invite you to share your insights on how to use technology, data and a plethora of other resources to map the future course of firms. We're looking for creative explorations of this topic, applicable to attendees who have varying access to the direction of the future.
Programs should:
- Address current and future trends in legal marketing and business development
- Present knowledgeable and dynamic speakers who engage the audience
- Provide useful takeaways for attendees
- Address people who are junior, mid-level or senior
- Address issues of small, medium and large firms
Topics
Possible topics should include how to leverage these resources for future success in:
- Marketing
- Business Development
- Communication
- Business of Law
- Client Services
- Marketing Management and Leadership
- Technology Management
- Quick Start - Programs and topics geared towards attendees who are new to legal marketing or looking for to learn a new skill
Method of Delivery
Proposed sessions should be structured using one of the following formats:
- Panels: Two to four speakers with a moderator in a conversational format (60 minutes)
- Interactive Workshops: Led by one or two people and highly interactive, and will include worksheets, case studies, or role play (90 minutes)
- Lecture: Single person presentation (60 minutes)
- TED-style Talk: 15 minutes to share your story with the attendees and give them insight into your experience
- Round Table Discussion: Moderate a discussion among attendees in a small group setting (60 minutes)
