Detroit City Group Update

By Anthony Allegrina posted 08-01-2013 10:12

This is shaping up to be an unusually busy year for the Detroit City Group, which has already hosted four formal programs, has two more scheduled for the fall, and is in the process of finalizing plans for our annual summer social in early August! Here is a recap of some of the latest developments from the Great Lakes State.

  • Our fall schedule is notable in that two firms will host City Group events for the first time. On September 25, “Legal Brain Logic: How Lawyers Hear (and Learn From) Marketers” will be hosted by Pepper Hamilton (and City Group member Larry Halicki) at its Southfield, Michigan offices. On November 6, “What’s Mobile Got to Do With It? How Technology is Changing the Practice of Law” will be hosted by Collins Einhorn (and City Group member Cindy Whitcomb) at its offices, which also are in Southfield.

  • The City Group has welcomed a new member, Julie Holton, marketing director at Fraser, Trebilcock, Davis & Dunlap, P.C. in Lansing. Julie, who made the trip to Detroit on June 11 to participate in our annual Brown Bag Lunch at Howard & Howard, is new to legal marketing. Before joining Fraser Trebilcock, Julie worked in the television industry where she spent 10 years as an award-winning writer, producer and executive producer of news teams. We look forward to benefiting from Julie’s perspective as a former broadcast journalist and hope her participation will spur interest in our group from more of our colleagues in the Lansing area. Read more about her in this month’s In the Loop Q&A article.

  • Congratulations to Stacey Parzuchowski of Howard & Howard Attorneys PLLC, a long-time regular at Detroit City Group events. Stacey was recently promoted to marketing and communications specialist at H&H, a role in which she will manage marketing activities and communication tools to implement strategies that effectively promote the firm’s services to its clients. Stacey, who has been with H&H for nearly eight years, previously held the positions of marketing assistant and marketing associate.

  • In other Howard & Howard news, Stacey’s boss, marketing director Cindy Richards, has become co-chair of the Detroit City Group Steering Committee, joining long-time co-chair John Cornwell and taking over from Rich Marsolais, who has chosen to focus on his duties as president elect of the LMA-Midwest Board of Directors. Thanks to Rich and John for the solid leadership they have provided over the years and to Cindy for taking on this important role.
