The business landscape for law firms has changed significantly over the past few years -- but their websites have not kept up. Law firm websites have traditionally focused on branding the firm as a whole. However, this is changing. For a variety of business reasons, firms are now feeling the need to help attorneys market themselves. As a result, the one-size-fits-all, single-page attorney website bio will be relegated to the dustbin of legal marketing history and it will be replaced by something much more robust: the attorney microsite.

With the introduction of social media as part of our everyday life and language, legal customers expect firms to prove they can keep up with the changing times and technologies. As more law firms develop an online presence, it’s imperative to differentiate yourself by including video about your firm on your website. While nothing guarantees an increase in business, the use of video is a smart and relatively inexpensive way to market your law firm.

Come hear Dion Algeri of Great Jakes Marketing Company and Ed Heil of StoryTeller Media & Communications tell you what an attorney microsite is, how to develop one, how to create and incorporate video into your new website, and many other tips, tricks, and pointers for giving your online presence the competitive edge it needs to keep up.

Speakers:

Dion Algeri is a co-founder of Great Jakes, a web-centric marketing communications firm that serves law firms and professional services. He is a frequent writer and speaker on issues relating to legal marketing and is the co-author of the The Great Jakes Blog, a well-trafficked blog that offers contrarian insight on legal marketing issues. In the past year, his ideas and work have been covered by over 40 legal industry publications and blogs, including: Above The Law, Larry Bodine’s Law Marketing Portal, Progressive Marketing Blog, The National Law Journal (Law.com), Hellerman Baretz Blog and the ABA Journal.

Ed Heil, a native of Seoul, Korea, raised in Detroit, is the owner and founder of StoryTeller Media & Communications, a boutique public relations and video services agency in Bloomington, Minnesota. Ed started StoryTeller after 12 years in television news where he was a sports reporter and anchor in Minnesota and South Carolina. His most recent television job was at WCCO-TV in Minneapolis where he worked from 2000-2005.
