Networking: Overcoming fears, Finding Opportunities, and Making the most of your connections
Those who seem to have mastered the art of networking appear to move effortlessly around the room collecting cards, making friends, and snatching up new cases and leads. Meanwhile, for many of us, we see networking as an exercise in pure torture. We happily bury ourselves in work or our cell phones to avoid speaking to someone we don't know. Join us for this program on networking presented by PJ Dunn, where he will help us learn to get out of our offices and overcome our fears.
Attorneys and law clerks will learn easy and practical tips on how to get started, how to take advantage of those obligatory lawyer events, and how to make the most of your new connections with follow-through. Marketers will learn tips for networking that will benefit you as well as your attorneys. Take away pointers on how to find easy networking opportunities and learn motivational tricks to help get your attorneys out there and making connections.
PJ Dunn is the six time SMU Dedman School of Law guest speaker and four time TWU School of Law guest speaker on the topic of utilizing networking for business and job searching. PJ was selected as one of only a handful of non-lawyers to advise the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers (2005). To this day, PJ is a guest speaker at the DAYL Leadership Retreat and continues to extol the value of professional ethics and leadership. When PJ is not speaking he is coaching teams and individuals on how to meet and exceed their professional and personal goals.
