POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting with and executing various regional and practice group Marketing initiatives. The Regional Marketing Specialist will be one of the “go to” marketers in Philadelphia/Princeton and Wilmington markets residing in the Philadelphia, and as such, must be visible, approachable, flexible and proactive.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist in supporting the strategic development and tactical deployment of marketing communications programs that build the Reed Smith brand within the regional market of the U.S. East Coast markets, including: advertising, public relations, direct marketing, client educational and entertainment events, and community support initiatives.
- Write, post, and update U.S. attorney bios along with linking news coverage, news releases, bylined articles, and events to the Reed Smith web site. Serve as regional contact for users regarding Marketing Intranet and Internet resources.
- Assist the U.S. Regional Marketing team as necessary with regional marketing budgets. This may include (re)classifying expenses; maintaining budget files; contacting Accounts Payable with questions or to request investigation; verifying expenses and invoices; and preparing check requests.
- Gather information from attorneys regarding membership opportunities in regional business and/or trade organizations and maintain an attorney board affiliations database. Collaborate with Office Managing Partner(s) and various firmwide PGLs/BD Coordinators to identify participation opportunities in regional business and/or trade organizations and boards; evaluate succession opportunities.
- Arrange and work onsite as needed for U.S. regional market client entertainment (such as sporting events) and client receptions, including invitation list development and invitation mailing, tracking RSVPs, guest reception and hospitality. Regional entertainment may be on behalf of practice groups, OMP or industry-related groups.
- Plan and execute logisitics of on & off-site U.S. regional client education programs and virtual events, such as teleseminars and webinars. This would include CLE accreditation, event registration, materials preparation, equipment and conference room reservations, virtual logistics and guest reception and hospitality.
- Master the firmwide technology systems such as CRM, Cvent and all others as introduced by the KM team. Maintain relevant regional contact information in the CRM system, track all regional pitches and significant client activity.
- Work with in-house Graphics Supervisor to prepare appropriate community support advertisements, invitations, and other print items in the U.S. East Coast markets.
- Assist U.S. regional team and BD with PowerPoint presentations and off-the-shelf materials for meetings with current and prospective clients, including creating slide shows, making copies, distributing materials, and updating presentations as directed.
- Partner with supply room to maintain and ensure availability of a complete collection of marketing materials and supplies for the U.S. regional markets.
- Provide a variety of support on select business development projects, as well as provide on-going support as a dedicated marketer to an Industry, Practice, sub-Group or another TBD.
- All other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
College-level training in Marketing or related field or related experience.
Experience:
Entry Level or Two year experience in Legal Marketing or professional services preferred in an administrative coordinator role requiring independent work and demonstrated project leadership.
Skills:
Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to work with little supervision. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must have high degree of poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts. Ability to prioritize workload and solve problems quickly. Must be able to assist individuals of various levels with needs and problems and react to difficult situations appropriately.

Equipment To Be Used: Personal computer and other office equipment such as telephone, calculator, fax, machine, copier, scanner, etc.
Typical Physical Demands: Manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment.
Typical Mental Demands: Requires the ability to multi-task and handle projects from various individuals. Must also address diverse issues on a daily basis. Must be able to handle stressful situations and interact with various personalities at all levels in the Firm. Must be able to make judgment decisions and adapt to changing work situations. Must be able to grasp and apply new ideas.
Working Conditions: Occasionally called upon to work in excess of 40 hours per week. Works in a typical office setting. Must be able to travel to U.S. offices on a routine basis as workload demands require.
