The Your Honor Awards recognize excellence in legal marketing, sales, business development and design. Entries were submitted by legal marketing professionals on behalf of their respective law firms. More than 45 entries were submitted in LMA Midwest's regional competition, with entries from law firms in Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan and Missouri. Submissions were judged on a variety of criteria, including product, strategy and results.

The Seventh Annual LMA Midwest Your Honor Awards ceremony was held on March 7, 2013 at Carnivale in Chicago. During this lively event, awards were presented in 11 categories, a Rising Star was announced and a chapter veteran was inducted into the LMA Midwest Hall of Fame. Attendees enjoyed zesty food and libations as they celebrated notable achievements of fellow marketers and their firms. See photos from the event here.

Each year at the Your Honor Awards, the LMA Midwest Board of Directors recognizes two Chapter members who, through their dedication, service and contributions, have helped make our chapter THE leading professional organization for legal marketers in the Midwest. These members have volunteered countless "behind the scenes" hours — chairing committees, organizing member events, producing chapter communications, planning programming and networking opportunities, and assuming leadership responsibilities — to ensure that the LMA Midwest Chapter remains the number-one professional resource for its members, and continues to raise the bar of its own performance year after year.

Rising Star

Established in 2010, the "Rising Star" award is bestowed by the LMA Midwest board to acknowledge contributions to the legal marketing industry and service to our Chapter by an outstanding Young Member. This award strives to recognize one individual who has shown leadership beyond his or her years, has stepped up to lend a hand wherever needed in the chapter, and represents the potential that LMA’s next generation has to offer.

The 2013 Rising Star honoree, Amy Jean, has been a member of LMA Midwest since her first days at a law firm. She became active in LMA from the start, joining and later serving as chair of the Membership Committee.

Hall of Fame

This year’s LMA Midwest Chapter Hall of Fame Inductee Sydney Iglitzen is truly an impassioned volunteer who has devoted countless hours to serving on the Board and numerous committees both at the Midwest chapter level and internationally. She became a member in 1997 and has one of the longest-running tenures for board service spanning nearly a decade.

She served as the chapter's program chair for several years, implementing monthly and special programming for the organization's Midwest chapter and leading the expansion of city groups and related programming to the legal marketing communities in Indianapolis, Milwaukee and the Detroit area. Sydney served as the chairperson for both the public relations and membership committees. Over the years, her roles have ranged from member-at-large to president of our chapter, and she’s also served at the international level on the membership committee. It was during her term as president that the Chicago Chapter became the Midwest Chapter. Today, the Midwest chapter continues to grow, with new city groups in Detroit, St. Louis and Kansas City coming into our fold.

In addition to her countless hours of service to LMA, Sydney has also enjoyed a successful career working in many well-known Chicago firms as a marketing and business development practitioner. Her gift for writing and public relations has contributed to the success of many of these firms, which is no surprise to those of us who know her.

Her historical knowledge and political savvy have been invaluable to our chapter. Her innumerable hours of service to our chapter, this organization and the legal marketing profession have not gone unnoticed, nor has the knowledge and friendship she has so freely shared with all of us.
