Description: The Business Development Coordinator will play a role in the implementation of business development strategies for the global Life Sciences Health Industry (LSHI) Group and support other Firmwide marketing and business development initiatives, as needed. As a member of a growing and energetic Firmwide marketing team, this position is responsible for the coordination and execution of business development and cross-selling activities to expand legal services provided to LSHI and other clients. This professional will work with other marketing and firm personnel to support pitches and proposals, event planning, research and analysis, marketing communications, and maintenance of LSHI documents, reports and systems.  The Business Development Coordinator will contribute as a core part of the LSHI Business Development team on a number of shared projects, in addition to independently leading projects and interacting with attorneys.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the LSHI Business Development Manager and Business 
  • Development Supervisor in various projects as they relate to business development efforts associated with the LSHI Group.• Develop customized pitch materials, presentations and responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs); assist attorneys with presentation preparation by compiling company research, industry-specific expertise and representative experience
  • Assist LSHI Group Leaders and other attorneys with Firmwide business development activities; maintain strong working relationships and a high level of day-to-day interaction with members of LSHI team aas well as attorneys in related practice groups.
  • Draft and edit marketing collateral, including practice area descriptions and attorney biographies for print, website and intranet; post updates to firm website and intranet as required.
  • Coordinate LSHI Group teleseminar program, including overseeing scheduling and logistics, developing contact lists, working with graphics and events team to develop and disseminate  invitations, and conducting follow-up as required.• Assist in coordination of local and national conferences, client seminars and sponsorships.
  • Collect and maintain attorney experience and client information in Firmwide databases and client relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Assist with the collection of information for, and production of, internal marketing materials including monthly newsletters, mailing lists, internal blogs, and capabilities documents.
  • Work closely with LSHI Specialist and LSHI attorneys to draft, edit and coordinate posts for the Life Science and Health Care industry blogs. 
  • Conduct market research and client analysis to identify business development opportunities. 
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:Education: College degree in Marketing or related field required.

Experience: Two to four years of experience in professional services marketing role required. Litigation experience and/or industry experience preferred.  Familiarity with key client account management a plus. Must be able to demonstrate exceptional organizational and time management skills, strong writing ability, a positive attitude, and great work ethic. Must have demonstrated experience working independently as well as within cross-functional teams in a collaborative, professional environment.

Skills:

  • Must possess strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be technology savvy and able to quickly learn new database systems.
  • Must be extremely detail oriented, proactive and self-directed with ability to independently manage and appropriately prioritize multiple projects and competing priorities under tight deadlines, sometimes with minimal oversight
  • Must demonstrate sound professional judgment and a high degree of poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts. 
  • Must be comfortable establishing effective Firmwide working relationships with individuals at all levels. 
  • Must be able to react to difficult situations quickly, effectively and diplomatically. 
  • Must possess, and be willing to continue to develop, strong organizational, project management and problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team and be flexible in approach.
