Jennifer Brinkley recently joined LMASE as our Chapter Administrator and we welcome her to our organization! Let's get to know Jennifer.

What attracted you to LMASE?

I have been fortunate to cohost a few events with the LMASE - Atlanta City Group on occasion.  I have always been impressed with the caliber of people involved in the organization and with the wealth of knowledge provided by their speakers.  The Southeastern Chapter of LMA is a very well respected association in the legal field and when the opportunity arose to work with LMASE, I was excited to throw my name in the hat.  I was even more thrilled when the board agreed that I would be a good fit.

What do you love about your job?

I like to surround myself with people who I respect and admire and who share a common goal of advancing their professional development while making a positive impact on the people in their professional circles.  My job as the LMASE Chapter Administrator gives me all of that.  I get to use the everyday business management skills I worked hard to obtain while working alongside people to advance their own professions and provide resources to support individuals in their careers.  Like any job, it is not without its challenges, but I am one of the lucky few who get to say I truly love what I do.

Tell us about your background?

I began working in law firms in the late 90s as an Assistant to the Administrator and later moved on to become an Administrator of a small firm in Atlanta.  As a law firm administrator, I belonged to the Association of Legal Administrators and served on the Atlanta Chapter's board.  When I decided to take a break from my career to stay home with my kids, AALA asked that I work part time for them managing the everyday functions of the chapter.  That position slowly grew and gave me opportunities to work with other legal associations, including my current role as Administrator for LMASE!

What do you love to do outside of work?

I have two young kids so needless to say, much of my free time is spent with them.  My son's love of football awakened my own love of the sport, so I'm often seen/heard cheering, or sadly, more often than not, yelling at a TV screen during football season.  I've also recently started playing golf, another sport that often inspires more yelling, but usually its from whatever poor group is stuck behind me.

Which super power would you like to have?

I want to be Santa Claus!  I don't know what super power that would technically be, but it would be great fun if you lived in a place full of toys, where your job was to make children's dreams come true.  You were revered for your belly that looked like a bowl full of jelly when you laughed and you got to defy every mathematical theory known to man by flying your sleigh around the world, gliding down chimneys (again with that big, round belly) and eating cookies while delivering toys that cost you absolutely nothing. That would be pretty awesome.
