1. How did you start working the legal industry?
The majority of my career has encompassed business development/client relations coupled with marketing and events. My position at MEA Forensic has given me the opportunity to do what I have a passion for. Working with a team of engineers and scientists in assisting them achieve their marketing goals is very rewarding.
2. What advice would you offer to someone new to the industry?
Get connected! Networking with your peers is very valuable. I think we all face similar situations so it is encouraging to know there are other marketers facing the same challenges and successes. It is helpful to be able to share experiences and knowledge.
3. Why did you join LMA and is it the same reason you are still a member?
My colleagues in our other offices (in Canada) are also members and have found LMA to be very valuable. There are great benefits to learning and sharing what other marketers are doing in similar industries. We see a parallel to law firms in how our firm is structured. We also use similar technologies and best practices. We help clients understand the scientific aspects of their case and provide technical opinions for use in resolving legal disputes.
4. What would people be most surprised to learn about you?
I had the wonderful opportunity early in my career to work the Olympics – talk about a “major” event. I was working in public relations and handled the media/press at the Olympic Village. It was amazing to meet world class athletes and the foreign press and be in such an energetic international environment. This is something I will never forget!
