Dear LMA-LA members:
The LMA-LA Chapter Nominating Committee has begun the process to determine the slate of candidates for the 2016 LMA-LA Board of Directors. LMA-LA members will ratify the slate in August for terms beginning in January 2016.
Eligible members are invited to express their interest in serving on the board (i.e., self-nominate) or to submit the name of an eligible colleague or peer by using the instructions in this letter and its attachments.
We are looking for board members who will bring strategic thinking, creativity, and passion to the planning and implementation of key initiatives that will help advance the LMA-LA chapter.
To be eligible, a candidate must be a member in good standing; a member of LMA for at least one year; and a current member of the Los Angeles chapter.
Vacant positions are:
- President-Elect (3 year commitment: President-Elect in 2016, President in 2017, Immediate Past-President in 2018)
- Secretary (1 year commitment)
- Treasurer (1 year commitment)
- Four (4) Members-at-large (1 year commitment)
What is the Role of the LMA-LA Board of Directors?
The board of directors is LMA-LA's highest governing body, providing oversight to all aspects of the chapter, including finance, programming, marketing and communication, as well as identifying and implementing other member benefits.
Amongst its many tasks, the board oversees the implementation of LMA-LA's strategic plan and directs LMA-LA's continued growth and success. Board participation is both a demanding and rewarding experience. We are looking to identify those members who wish to use their leadership skills to help shape the local association that serves our profession in the Los Angeles community.
